I've now decided that was a mistake.I would like to go back to being blonde but a lighter one than before.
My question is,what colour can i put on top of my current hair dye to recieve the results i would like.
I would be very grateful for any help with this please.Thank you.
Three weeks ago i dyed my naturally dark blonde hair with L'oreal Recital Preference Dark Red Ultra Violet.
Hi what you would need to do is bleach out the colour and then start again but as your hair is a violet colour it might react with the bleach or it might just go bright orange.
Ive made enought mistakes by doing this to my hair over and over again and to tell you the truth it probably wont got back to blonde unless you let it grow out. You can go to a hair dresser and they will probably tell you the same thing. As they told me, when I dye my hair and wanted it back blonde there was no way of getting a lighter blonde just light brown.
There is no colour you can put on your dark red violet hair to get it light blonde there is no way. You will only create more problems and endup with hair like me, Very dry and brittle and no hair dresser will help you out to get it back in coondition as they cant do anything.
I had this probelm over and over again and its not recommend if you want to look after a good head of hair to try and bleach it out. You can try but you will need more than one go and your head will be very sore from the bleaching and then imagine what happens when you apply heat it all frazzles and breaks off.
I would try and get use to it as if ypou have gone from very light to dark it is very much a shock. Ive had black hair a few weeks ago and I went from light to black I didnt like it at first but a few weeks into dyeing it I thought it was fine and I would still have it this way if but im getting married in July and I didnt want jet black hair. So like you wanted to do I bleached it and ended up with an orange result even thought I knew it would end up this way. I then applyed light brown. And now my hair is back to dry frizzy and is snapping off,. I went to get my hair done at the hair dressers for my wedding hair and she woouldnt do it until she has got it in good condtion, so thank go she is a really nice and is helping me, shes going to put a light brown over the different colour I have on, and then going to do a couple of treatments and cuts so its back to normal. and it does cost loads but its worth it as it just gets worse.
Im learning from my mistakes and no more home dyeing my hair for me as I know the results so Im defiantly getting it done at the hairdressers. So I suggest this to you.
It might be worth you going to the hairdressers and seeing what they can do, They might be able to do something with the colour as its only your first dye on top of the blonde.
I hope you can get it sorted out as I know what its like to be stuck with a hair colour you dont like. It will fade over time and if you keep getting a trim it will of grown out before you know it.
Reply:Yes, DO NOT do it yourself.... unless you want green or pink hair!!! It will be worth the extra money to have a professional do it.
GOOD LUCK :)
Reply:You need to first remove the hair color you put in. Do you have a Sally's Beauty Supply store near you? If so, go %26amp; get L'Oreal Color Zap. (you may need 2 boxes, since red is difficult to get out). The good thing about this stuff is that it does not contain bleach %26amp; you can also color it right after you are done drying it after you remover the color (most color removers you need to wait a day) So, when you are at Sally's, you may also want to pick up a bottle of the color you want it to be (plus the developer %26amp; a application bottle) so that , right after you remove the color, you will not have to go back out/leave the house to get the color taht you want your hair to end up being :)
Reply:Hi Tammy, I would defintely say go to a salon! Stripping colour is a tricky job, dealing with regrowth and making sure the hair is the same colour all over is something you shouldnt try by yourself. I've tried the same kinda thing myself, (but removing black) and it ended up being rather "interesting". It might take a few trips to the hairdresser, but it's best to spend a bit of money rather than risk damaging your hair and that way people wont do funny things with their eyebrows when they see you! *giggle*
Reply:you can use the reverse colour from boots..it takes off the colour if you change your mind, if you cant see it ask.DONT BLEACH OVER YOU WILL TURN PINK!.....ALL YOU CAN DO IS GO TO HAIRDRESSERS FOR ADVICE..DONT DO IT YOURSELF!..PLEASE?
Reply:you need to bleach the color out
Reply:It can be put back to blonde, but you will have to get it done professionally. Red is the hardest colour to cover.
I went a reddish colour for a while and it took forever to get it sorted. A friend (who is a hairdresser) had to put highlights in every four weeks for 3 months before she could put a whole head of blonde on.
Get professional help with it hun and good luck xxxxx
Reply:First you need to bleach the color out and wait 2-3 days then dye it because if you dye it right after you bleach it your hair will fall out.
Reply:Pay attention people. This is for all you hair color junkies at home. You CAN NOT lift out artificial hair color with other artificial hair color. Because of the color you chose and the result you are now after, the only logical answer is a colorist. You went too dark, too red and now want something at the other end of the color world. The decolorizers available to consumers are extremely harsh, you do not know what you are doing and even a full head can be difficult for an inexperienced professional. Please find a specialist and book a consultation. They will talk to you about your expectations- since I can't see your head I don't even know if you can really expect what you want immediately.
