When I look at the sun, I see colors of blue and violet and then it changes to gold... is this normal?

Yes, that's your perceptual system struggling with overload. Blue and violet are high-energy colours, so in the initial flood of light it's more straightforward to sort them out and those are the first colours you see. But the other colours rapidly catch up and perception normalizes.

i would'nt do that, galileo went blind from looking at the sun to much.
Reply:yes, it is the rapid burning of your cornea followed by the degeneration of your optic nerve being exposed directly to UV radiation, and will eventually cause blindness.
