My hair is originally black. I dyed my hair with violet red but now it's too light colored! Does washing it with dish soap would remove the red and retain a darker shade of color? Or will it make my hair color go lighter? PLEASE HELP! I need home remedies or any recommended hair color products. If possible, I do not want to re-color my hair.... Please help. Thank you.
HELP! How to remove red hair dye if I wanted it to be a darker shade?
Actually red is one of the easiest colors to remove. buy a hair color remover such as Color Oops (can be purchased at any drugstore) or Color Zap (found at beauty supply stores). After you use the color remover you can dye your hair right away. Also, make sure you buy a dye that is lighter than the shade you originally want because since your hair will be porous after you use the color remover it'll soak up the color more making it darker. if you're gonna go back to black then disregard that last statement.
Reply:Well i know for a fact that red is an extremely hard color to get out. maybe you should get a color removing kit. idk what that'll do. maybe it'll darken it im not sure.
Reply:well yes the dish soap will help strip out some of the color also any shampoos that have a higher ph level like pert will strip out unwanted color too. i would suggest stripping out the color with some home remedies then applying a boxed color on top making sure you cover the whole head and comb it totally through to get a even application. you may use tea bags to darken your hair too if you don't want to use permanent hair color.
