my african violets were doing just fine until my dog got at them. he didnt do any damage to the actual plant but ever since, the plant has bloches of brown in the leaf (and there are no flowers). what should i do? i really dont want it do die.
thanks!!!
African violet help?
first of all you should not keep your plant watered if it has brown spots this is a sign of over watering .African Violets like to be watered from the bottom place your plant in a sunny location and water as needed they being a furry leaved plant liked to be wet from the roots ,some violets take time and special environment's to grow new flowers your plant may be in a dormant period just hold on it Will come back also you need to be aware that their are some plants that are poisonous so your dog can not get hold of them you need to place them at a higher level
Reply:Its in shock, keep it watered and take as kind care of it as you can,,,,As you know they do not like to be touched or handled in any way, so the dog thrashing it about, and saliva. Your plant is very very mad at you right now..a little coaxing and a little tlc it will be just fine...
did you apologize for the dog attack?
Yes plants can hear you and they do respond to you.
Reply:all you can do is keep it in the sunlight and don't over water it stick your finger in it about 1/2 inch if it feels dry water it if it doesn't leave it alone thats all you can do.
