African violets - What is the minimum temperature they can take without dying?

I just wondered if it go down into the 30'sF inside the house would they have a problem with that.

It's best not to allow your African violets to be in temperatures below 45 F for any length of time; anything below freezing will kill them, of course. Temperatures in the 30s are very likely to shock the plants, and possibly cause them to cease growth and rot. Ideally, African violets should be at about 70 F.
Reply:African violets like it warm, not less than

60 deg. F in winter. They also don't like draughts and sudden changes in temperature.For winter blooming provide artificial light at night.They might not survive temperatures in the 30's F.

Reply:if it goes to 30f in the house youll have more than problems with your violets. water pipes will freeze door jambs will move and everything will be screwed. You got to have heat to live I would suggest contacting the welfare office if heat is going to be a problem. other than that here is a link on taking care of your violets if you live Indianapolis and need help fast with the heat hit me up I'll turn your gas on and help with the legal work.
