bleach it then dye it again
Hi, i had black hair before and i coloured my hair dark Violet and it didnt make no difference.wat can i do?
Because the Violet you are using is probably a pigmet and not a dye. A Pigmet will only color over your exsisting color, and a dye will lift your natural color and replace it with the new one. What you need to do is prelighten your hair the violet will show up
Good Luck

Reply:If the black hair wass from a dye get a stylist to strip the color and then dye it violet. If it is naturally black it will be difficult to get violet (or any other color) without damaging your hair.
Reply:i would wait a month and then go have it colored by a professional. the dyes that you buy on the store shelf isnt as strong as what a beauty salon uses.
every girl with black hair that ive seen who dyed her hair blue or violet and purple had it to come out great.
Reply:bleach it for about 30 mins then do it
Reply:When you have hair that is darker than the color you want to color it there is no way the color will show up. With you having black hair, about all you can do is get your hair bleached and then color it with the dark violet. If you had blonde/light brown hair it would take so much better.
If you want to use a semi permament dye and do it a few times I suggest coloring your hair lighter, not bleaching it. Make it a color you can live with. Go to the salon and show them the dye you want to use. They can give you the best advice on how to make it work.
Reply:did you leave it on long enough
Reply:If your hair is dark before you dye it a dark color, it won't make a difference.
I just dyed my hair green, and my hair was dark, so I had to bleach it out then dye it.
I hope it turns out alright.
=D
Reply:hmm did you use box color? black box color is the hardedt thing to get out or your hair!
try using a very high intesity of violet because you hair is so dark that it wont show up much. however if you have been using box color, my best suggestion is dont put more box color over the top, it will only make it harder to change. go to a slaon and get a corrective color, they can try to lift it out and deposit a lighter more vibrant color. just a warning though, it may be a little uneven as box color especially black is very very very stubborn...
good luck!
Reply:there is a phrase used in my industry that states "colour will NOT lighten colour" so in other words a colour that is lighter than black (which is ALL colours) will not work. you needed to bleach to the orange stage: http://photobucket.com/albums/j157/plati... and then apply the violet colour. now that you have colour on your hair though you will now need to use a colour remover to take that artificial pigment out to make it easier for the bleach (otherwise it may not cut through the violet colour) try Goldwell: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLDWELL-colour-ti... once your haircolour has been removed then you may bleach, use Goldwell bleach http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLDWELL-OXYCURPLA... which is mixed with developer (peroxide) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Goldwell-Colorance... and once you are at the correct stage then you are free to add your violet colour.
Reply:coloure it light then colour it dark violet?
good luck
