How is it that when Violet in Coronation Street...?

announced she was pregnant, after a couple of weeks she was huge! Maria, however, has been pregnant for as long as I can remember and not even a bump!!!

Reply:Perhaps the wedding dress didn't look as good with a big false bump under it. Give it a couple more weeks and i'm sure she'll be just as big.

Or maybe the unborn baby has gone upstairs to do it's homework for the next several years and when we do eventually see it it will be at Weatherfield High.

Reply:I had to laugh at Violets extra large cushion last night,doubled in size in one episode %26amp; the waddling too.Maybe they filmed the wedding scene on a boat in rough seas.
Reply:Was wondering myself about the size of Violet, also what was with the silly walk or should i say "waddle". i know pregnancy does affect your walk a bit (been there 3 times)but to the extent of looking like a Webble , no no no .As for Maria well she had to look good in the wedding dress , mind you that dress was gorgeous!

I'm guessing to speed up Violet's storyline, and keeping Maria small until her weddings over with so she looks good in that dress.

Reply:Soap babies have different gestation (oooh big word) periods than humans. You will also notice that sometimes a child can change completely overnight and the parents dont notice. And they tend to grow older according to the storyline and not chronologically.
Reply:well you wouldn't think Ian Beale in Enders has a baby boy at all...he's never in the house or with Ian and Jane..who has him all the time...gone off the programme to another one but hey its just make believe..

Reply:what really bugs me is the way Violet walks!!! What's all that about? Even in the last stages of pregnancy, you certainly don't waddle from side to side so animatley! It was so funny.
