do you think thats its too old fashioned? what middle name would follow nicely?
What do you think of the name violet?
I absolutely adore the name!
I like Violet best paired with a three- or four-syllable middle name. Because Violet is stressed on the first syllable, I prefer a middle name that is not.
Violet Elizabeth
Violet Evangeline
Violet Gabrielle
Violet Arabella
If your last name is really long, then a one-syllable middle name might sound better:
Violet Grace
Violet Jane
I would avoid a name that could sound like a phrase when paired with violet. For example, I don't really like Violet Rose, Violet Snow, or Violet Skye.
Reply:it reminds me of a crayon
Reply:i think the name violet is NOT too old fashioned.
it's cuute.
I like-
Violet Alexandria
Violet Elise
Violet Joann

Reply:I don't like it that much cuz it sounds like an old name, but that's why Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck named their baby girl. You should just name it what you guys like. Strangely enough, Violet Rose sounds pretty.
Reply:i luv that name!
Violet Anne
Violet Elizabeth
Violet Elise
Violet Beth
Violet Paige
Violet Alexis
Reply:I love classic names. They certainly sound better than the modern names celebrities come up with like... Audio Science, Denim or Apple. Come on! Violet sounds perfect for a little girl.
Reply:Violet is a nice, sensible, strong name... it's time we start giving our children good strong names instead of made up names
Reply:Very beautiful name! Violet Marie, Violet Anna
Reply:Violet is nice but just dont make the second name another flower name like some people have Violet-Rose,
Reply:I certainly wouldn't say it's "too" old-fashioned, especially given its current rise (thanks to the celeb usage). In fact, Violet has become one of the hot "new" comebacks. Not yet as common as Emily, Olivia, Amelia and the like, but definitely on a steady upward climb.
In fact, I generally suggest variant Viola to those who ARE seeking an underused classic, to somewhat sidestep Violet's popularity (yes, popularity). ;) It's currently around the 250 mark, and has been rising by the HUNDREDS each year.
I'd use an equally classic, charming middle name -- nearly any would work beautifully! -- but be cautious about avoiding another obvious word name. Other than that, the possibilities are rather endless. ;)
Violet Faye
Violet Eleanor
Violet Eloise
Violet Adelaide
Violet Madeleine
Violet Penelope
Violet Genevieve
Violet Jane
You get the idea. ;)
Reply:I LOVE this name! It's not old-fashioned at all! Violet Anne or Violet Kathrynn is cute!
Reply:i like it
Reply:It's old fashioned, but pretty too. It could start a trend again...
Reply:I love the name Violet!
It's really cute. :)
My boyfriend likes the name Violet Leia ("LAY-uh")
Reply:Very cute :) Not too old fashioned at all-- in fact it's been seeing a lot more usage due to Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's little girl... I think Violet Abigail or Violet Elizabeth is cute :)
Reply:I love the name Violet, old fashioned names are making a come back and they really are classics.
Reply:I like it. There's no such thing as old-fashioned names. If they're good, they'll stick around. If not, their owners will outlive them and it will be unfortunate. How about Violet Emarie or Violet Elise?
