I'm looking for a fragrance that smells of violets, or at least predominantly of violets.
Please - none that contain anise or musk notes, as musk just smells dirty to me and anise smells cheap to my nose (it's the licorice thing).
Modern formulation suggestions and old-fashioned ones are all welcome. Thanks in advance.
What is a good perfume that smells of violets?
Devon Violet Perfume?
Bach Water Violet Essence?
Yardley April Violet Eau de Toilette?
Reply:Love Spell is the best perfume ever!!its violet!!its awesome. its from Victoria's secret
Reply:You could look for a synthetic violet fragrance body oil. Ive heard that violet scent cannot be taken from real violets for some reason, so it can only be approximated in a lab.
Reply:Guerlain "Insolence" Perfume. Here's a description of it from Bloomingdales:
A new modern fruity floral fragrance that brings out three facets of insolent femininity. There is a vibrant punch of violets that really represent the bold and daring side of women. Then there are the fruity bursts of berries and floral iris notes that just add beauty and sensuality to the fragrance.
(Personally I don't find it fruity at all, it's a nice powdery violet scent.) "My Insolence" is nice too. It's violet with the tinyest bit a raspberry and flowering almond. I have and love both. I don't know why they gave such lovely soft perfumes such saucy names!
