In a gram stain, what happens when the application of the crystal violet and safranin stains are reversed?

well, you will stain the bacteria red/pink with safranin first. then you use the iodine for a mordant. then decolorize with the ethanol. and then stain the bacteria blue with crystal violet..

if it is a gram negative bacteria, it will seem like a gram positive now, because it is blue.

this way sucks, because crystal violet is not good to be a counterstain. you need the crystal violet to be first. and the safranin last.
