Is 390 nm ultra violet light safe?

i know that you should never look a UV light in the eye but what about just average club-going, rave, and partying? is there a limit to how long i should be exposed to those kinds of lights?

Is 390 nm ultra violet light safe?
Ignore the wavelength for a second and ask yourself, does the term Ultra-Violet seem safe to me, knowing what I know about that type of EM radiation? The answer is a resounding, no. Any type of exposure to UV light is not 'good' for you, as it has a higher energy than Visible light (due to its shorter wavelength, and thus higher frequency). That means these rays can deposit more energy into your body's cells, killing them easily.

To answer the second part of your question, you wouldn't at all see this UV light, so it makes it useless at a club, unless the club wanted to fry all of its party-goers. As for the limit, I can't really say anything but try not to get intentionally exposed to it as much as possible. Sunlight is necessary as you need Vitamin D, but UV radiation can eventually cause skin cancer. You decide.
