How do I use liquid eyeliner as eyeshadow?

I brought Almay raisin quartz liquid eyeliner (the one to play up green eyes). Has anybody used it? How do I create a thin line across the top lid? It always ends up too thick and either covers or worse almost covers the area just above the lashes where eyeshadow is visible if worn and your eyes are open, this means the line is too thick right? It looks bad. How do I make it a finer and straight line?

Also, it's such a pretty metallic shade that it really brings out my green eyes when smudged over the top lip like eyeshadow and smudged halfway along the lower lashline, this creates a really dramatic night look that I want to wear to a party. The problem is there a line where the eyeliner is worn and not worn at the crease. How can I smudge it to blend it like normal eyeshadow?

Also, has anyone tried the Almay play up green eyes eyeshadow? I brought it but don't really like it. The violet doesn't show much and the jades just look weird. How do I use it to look nice?

I have an answer to your first question. It pretty much just takes practice. When I started using liquid eyeliner it was hard to put on and I always made it too thick so just keep practicing and stretch your eyelid while applying, if you arnt already.
Reply:Try buying a brush to use for smudging and other makeup effects. I know professional makeup brushes are hideously expensive, so go to an art store! ^^ They have great quality brushes at lower prices.

The only advice for a thin line across the top is to use a light touch and a very fine brush/applicator point, i don;t know if your eyeliner has a fine tip applicator or not, if it doesn't, get a teeny tiny brush, and don't try to put on too much, or to do the whole eyelid at once.

It took me a while to learn to do nice liquid eyeliner, it used to take me 15 mins now it only takes me 3 lol. Give me an eyeliner pencil however, and i'll just wind up looking like a racoon. %26lt;.%26lt;

Practise makes perfect!
Reply:I have an answer to 1 of your questions.Though i Must admit I've never used Almay Rainsin quartz liquid eyeliner before I find the thing to do when line is to thick is do what they do in French Manicures to get the white tip. Take a pice of paper and cut it to (very roughly) the size of your eye, then place it over the bulk of your eyelid, leaving the bit where you want the liquid to go. Then simply arrange the paper on your eyelid according to how thick you want your line to be. Afterwards just paint on the eyeliner, while stil holding the paper over your eye and you should get a reasonably good line!
Reply:Even though I have never used Almay raisin quartz eyeliner... I have used liquid eyeliner before and I have experienced the same sort of problem! So here's what you do... first off, try using a spongy smudge tip brush to smudge the liner into a finer shape or if you still don't like the results... then buy a powder eyeliner and smudge that... they have all different colors and there is even a whole brand devoted to colors of eyes and they have powder and liquid liner! I forget the name but your local Target should carry it! Or some other pharmacy!
