How do people get natural purple eyes?

I am part Oriental Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Caucasian, and I have dark violet eyes. No one in my family has this trait, and I was wondering how I would get it. Is there something in my genes or it is a mutation? No one I know has an idea why. Can you help?

My son who was born in 1969, was the only child who had violet eyes, all the rest of my family has green eyes.

Dmitri's father had German ancestry ( blue eyes) and we have Northern European ancestry, so I really don't know.

My other 2 sons have different fathers, but they both have green eyes, my oldest daughter has green eyes and my 2 youngest girl's father was Native American Choctaw and they have green eyes, instead of his brown eyes.

I have green eyes.

Apparently, you just lucked up. If anyone asks, just tell them it is the sign of being mystical. Purple is a color of Loyalty %26amp; Royalty.

Reply:well its probably something a local doctor could answere but its probably your eyes being a mixe of the base normall colors in a way that it apears violet or it could be that you have a uncommon eye type like people who have 2 different color eyes

Reply:There's various eye colors that we as a human race can attain and if one person down the line had it you can be sure that you also can get it. You immediate family do not have to have the same eye color as you, also it could be the mix of families that prompted your exact eye color. Kind of like mixing crayons (different crayons make different colors!)

Reply:Its not actually the color purple...its not even actually violet ...its just a mix of colors that happens to look slightly like violet..in my opinion it doesnt even really look like it at all...but people like to think it does....i dont think its that great...i think real light green is way better...no offense
