How do you sterilize tattoo needles and equipment properly?
You need an autoclave.

Scrub the tubes with soap and water first - then you need to put them in an autoclave bag and sterilize them that way. Check on e-bay or Craig's list - you can probably find them at a reasonable price. They are a lot like a pressure cooker - except the pressure is higher than what you would use to cook with - most of them can be used on your stove at home, or can be plugged in.

Tattoo needles should only be used once and then disposed of in a sharps container - you can find those through any medical supply place.

A UV sterilizer will not work for tattoo equipment.
Reply:autoclave autoclave autoclave!
Reply:you need dry heat sterilizer or steam sterilizer the ultraviolet wont work but you should use new pre sterilized needles do not reuse needles only reuse cleaned and sterilized tubes or you can by disposable tubes they don't cost that much and you throw them away when your done and use a new one each time
Reply:You will need an autoclave for reusables like tubes etc. Nowadays many artists are using pre-soldered sterilized needles so you don't have to worry about sterilizing them. However if you are still soldering your own needles, please use an autoclave after soldering them.
Reply:Autoclave ! Any worthwhile clean shop uses DISPOSABLE needles !
